Yesterday I saw a post on FB about the top food related blogs to help save money. I thought it looked interesting and decided to save it to go through at some point. Later in the day I was cleaning out the pantry and throwing out some random food items. We have done well reigning in our grocery budget even though there is still work to do. If I could stop throwing away food it would really help. I decided to try a pantry challenge. First I made a list of everything we have and some meal ideas. If you have done a pantry challenge feel free to share some tips with me. thanks
Day 1
breakfast-blueberry compote
lunch-FAIL boxed soup that my husband said tasted like dog food. I also had a rice cake with Kerrygold Irish butter.

Yesterday I received The Whole Life Nutrition Cookbook and I am planning to make Coconut Quinoa Pilaf for lunch. In a few days I will be starting a detox through Thorne and supervised by my Naturopath. The cookbook was mentioned in an on-line pamphlet discussing the detox.
Today I am also hoping to pick out a few new recipes for the week. Luckily I don't go back to work until Wednesday so it should be easy to plan out my meals the next few days. I eat pretty healthy but need to increase my fruit/vegetable and seafood intake.
